Stephen Colbert obliterated the line between entertainment and politics by announcing his entrance in the Presidential race. Speaking to NBC’s Tim Russert, he left no doubt that he is running to win . . . one delegate. He’s considering asking disgraced Iowa Senator Larry Craig to join his ticket and described his governing style as “Nixonish or Nixonoid.” This is surprisingly great news for liberals. Despite a few nagging criminal tendencies, most analysts agree that Nixon’s domestic policies were well to the left of Bill Clinton’s.

This may all be just an elaborate push to promote his new book entitled “I Am America (and so can you). Otherwise, you’d have a guy named Stephen Colbert playing a guy on T.V. named Stephen Colbert and running for president. That would be inprecedented, wouldn’t it? You couldn’t have that, could we?
